Life After the Galaxy for RuudNot too far from the Home Despot Centre is the HQs for EA Sports, in Marina del Ray. That's where teams from World Cup 1994 were staying at if they played at the Rose Bowl - and as we know, Gullit ditched out on USA '94.
Coincidentally that's the year that Electronic Arts produced the first installment of their now-famous video game series. (Pictured)

Marina del Ray, California is a special place for five and four-star hotels. I was totally bummed about Gullit gone -- posters said it all, so did my Upper Deck collection -- but then in the second game of the tourney I saw a dude that rocked my dome.
I looked it up, and Henrik Larsson of Sweden -- another dazzling biracial dreadlocked sensation -- and his team were staying at a 5-star hotel in Marina del Ray. His presence at the World Cup that summer more than made up for Ruud's absence.
